These past few days I felt an itch … one I can’t quite put in words … it’s that feeling you get when you have an idea you’re excited about ( it might be gold, it might be shit … only one way to find out … do it! 🙂 ).
Working for a big IT giant is pretty cool and fairly rewarding however you miss that thrill you get when you explore an unknown path … you never know where it might take you.
Well, for me what I wrote above now has a name: “Experimental Host” and I’m going to build it.
Don’t get distracted by the “experimental” in it and don’t think I’m doing this to sell hosting. What I thought about is why not build a hosting service as a POC using the craziest idea I can come up with then measure and compare with traditional hosting services and share results then come up with the next crazy idea then POC then compare then keep at it … think experiment driven host 🙂
Why? Because this is a nice hobby to have and at same time it would be my way of giving something back to the community (I learned so much for free by simply reading various stuff online … might as well contribute with some stuff)
PS. While searching for a domain for my project I realized there aren’t that many domains registered that contain the word “experimental” … I wonder why ? …. 🙂
